“Yeah, the hot water helps, though.”

“I know something else that"ll help.” Gene leaned closer.

“When we"re back at your house, maybe I can show you.”

“Jesus Christ!” Kabe stood up, the water swirling around his tree-trunk legs. “If you wanted to make me jealous, you could have picked someone better than him. I mean, this is barely believable.”

Dan looked from Gene to Kabe and then back to Gene.

“Sit down, Kabe.” Dan felt Gene"s hand on his leg, stroking his skin. “There"s nothing for you to be jealous about. We worked out together and dated for a few months, but that"s over. You"re no longer my friend, and you"re certainly not my lover, and you never will be again.”

“Okay, but why him?” Kabe asked.

Dan wanted to slink under the water and disappear, but Gene"s hand kept gently stroking his leg, and he could feel himself hardening in his suit.

“He"s smart, funny, and he doesn"t need help with the big words when he reads. He"s an adult, Kabe, not an overgrown child. And I like him.” Gene turned to Dan. “I really like him.”

Gene had never raised his voice above his normal tone, but now his voice sounded so sexy, Dan felt a tingle zing right up his spine. Gene liked him, and it wasn"t just the words, but that hand resting on his leg, reassuring him that what Gene said was the truth. “Are you about done in here, Dan?”
